IT'S MORE THAN JUST PUTTING IDEAS IN YOUR HEAD
I teach the way I like to learn. Taking a cue from Einstein, I make things as simple as possible, but not simpler.
There is a difference between training and teaching. A trainer demonstrates how something is done. A Teacher explains not only how something is to be done, but then answers the "why" of the training. I hope that my teaching goes beyond just skill aquisition; I hope it inspires additional learning.
In my 20+ career, I have been a teacher, workshop leader, seminar presenter and keynote speaker. The topics I have taught cover a wide range:
I am currently on assignment in Charlotte, NC teaching EPIC Medical Software. I'm pretty damn good at it. I've been teaching the Ambulatory and Cadence modules for the last 10 years and the Resolute module for the last 3 years.
16-hour seminar on Anatomy and Physiology, seminars detailing the anatomy of the knee and presentations covering numerous types of fitness equiment. I also created and demonstrated Reebok Step choreography for fitness professionals and for the White House National Council on Fitness. For the 10 years I taught these workshops, I traveled the United States, presenting over 300 seminars annually.
I have taught the Microsoft Office Suite since its inception, and I have tackled many proprietary applications for companies ranging from NASA and BP to Kaiser Permanente. Recently, I have been teaching private clients how to maximize the use of their iPads.
I've taught a lot: Diversity in the Workplace, Sexual Harrassment at Work, Direct Party Sales Seminars, Cake Decorating, Gourmet Cupcakes workshops, Blogging workshops, Making Money Selling on eBay, Soap Making, Assorted craft, baking and entertaining seminars, photography workshops, etc. This curious nature makes me want to learn more every day. I have also helped other people produce their own workshops.
